Victorian Times lets you step back Victorian Girland experience life 150 years ago.  This exciting day camp offers girl's ages 8-11 a chance to relive the life of a girl born in the mid 1800's.  Daily activities include dressing up in hoop skirts, taking tea, etiquette, making bonnets, creating a Victorian sampler, learning early American dancing and exploring the lives of the historic women that shaped America and the world.

 

Victorian Times is one of the most memorable experiences a young lady can have.  Your daughter will join other girls ages 8-11 in an entirely unique, historical experience.  Our camp day begins at 9:00 a.m. every morning and ends at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon.  During our time together each girl will enjoy a variety of Victorian activities often performed by the your ladies of the day.

Campers are transported back in time through varied Victorian era costume ensembles.  All girls are provided with hoop skirts, matching collars, drawers and hats.

About the Founder:

Helen McDowell, owner and founder of Victorian Times and Miss Helen's Special-Teas(www.misshelentea.com),Victorian Times - A Historic Day Camp Founder, Helen McDowell is an experienced educator who brings a high degree of professionalism to her presentation and afternoon teas.  Miss Helen is a certified tea specialist well versed in the art of afternoon tea.  Seeking to provide only the most exceptional experience for her clients, Helen received her certification through courses with Lady Dawnya Sasse of Tea Events, one of the premiere tea educators in the United States.  Miss Helen obtained here training in children's etiquette through the Tea Company of Grosse Pointe, Michigan

Where will the camp be held?

     Sharlot Hall Museum.
     Prescott, Arizona.

How old do the girls need to be?

    Girls ages 8-11 are welcome to participate in this exciting camp.  Seven year olds who will be turning eight during or shortly after the dates of the camp will be considered on an individual basis.

What are the hours of the camp?

     The camp begins promptly at 9:00  and ends at 1:00 in the afternoon.

What does each camper need to bring?

     Each girl should bring a white blouse to complete her costuming and comfortable shoes.

Will lunch be provided?

     A light informal tea will be served daily.  This is a refreshment and not a full lunch.
